Mobile Crushing Plant — Highway Construction Project
Operating Conditions
The project operated in challenging tropical conditions:
- Temperature: 28-35°C ambient
- Humidity: 80-95% relative humidity
- Material: Basalt and andesite with low silica content
- Feed Material: blasted rock from local quarries, -600mm feed size
Production Results
- Total Production: 215,000 tonnes over 18 months
- Product Mix: 0-5mm, 5-10mm, 10-20mm, 20-40mm
- Average Throughput: 150 tph (design 180 tph)
- Equipment Availability: 91%
- Product Quality: 100% passing Philippine National Standards specifications
Project Benefits
Flexibility: The mobile plant was relocated twice during the project as quarry sites were exhausted, with each relocation completed within two weeks.
Cost Efficiency: Rental model allowed the client to match equipment costs to project phases, avoiding capital investment for equipment used only during the project duration.
Local Support: WSHT maintained a technician on-site throughout the project to ensure maximum availability and provide operator training.
The project was completed on schedule, and the client subsequently purchased the mobile plant for use on future infrastructure projects in the region.
