How to Improve Fine Gold Recovery in Alluvial & Rock Gold Processing

Gold mining projects face a common challenge: plenty of micro fine gold particles are lost during separation, which directly reduces economic benefits. Whether you run alluvial gold washing operations or process hard rock gold ore, selecting matched beneficiation equipment and reasonable process flow is the key to maximizing gold recovery rate.

Difference Between Alluvial Gold and Rock Gold Beneficiation

Alluvial gold exists in loose sand and gravel. The gold monomer has high dissociation degree. Generally, coarse gold can be captured by sluice boxes and jig machines. However, fine gold below 0.2mm is easy to run off with tail water.
Rock gold is wrapped inside rock. Crushing and grinding are required to dissociate gold particles from gangue. After grinding, gravity separation equipment is adopted to collect free gold. Many small-scale mines ignore fine gold recycling, resulting in serious resource waste.

Core Gravity Separation Equipment for Gold Ore

1. Shaking Table

The 6-S fiberglass shaking table is classic fine gold separation equipment. Under the combined action of reciprocating motion and water flow, minerals are stratified by specific gravity.
It can simultaneously discharge gold concentrate, middling ore and tailings. Suitable for processing fine sand and slime after primary separation. It works perfectly for recovering micro gold particles that centrifugal concentrators cannot fully collect.
Advantages: High separation precision, stable operation, low power consumption, adjustable stroke, frequency and deck slope to adapt to different ore properties.

2. Centrifugal Concentrator

High-speed centrifugal force strengthens gravity separation. It traps fine and superfine gold efficiently, usually used as primary concentration equipment before shaking tables.

3. Jig Machine & Gold Sluice Box

Mainly recover coarse granular alluvial gold, used for pre-concentration in the front section of production lines.

Recommended Complete Gold Processing Flow

Raw ore → Screening → Washing → Primary Concentration (Centrifugal Concentrator / Jig) → Fine Separation (Shaking Table) → Gold Concentrate Collection
This combined process covers coarse gold, medium gold and micro fine gold, effectively lowering gold loss rate.

Tips to Increase Gold Recovery

  1. Control reasonable feeding particle size; avoid oversize materials entering separation equipment.
  2. Adjust water volume, stroke and frequency of shaking table according to ore test.
  3. Match primary roughing and fine selection equipment instead of using single machine.
  4. Regularly maintain equipment to guarantee stable working status.

Summary

Gravity separation remains the most cost-effective method for gold ore beneficiation. Reasonable combination of centrifugal concentrators and shaking tables solves the difficult problem of fine gold recycling. If you are planning to build or upgrade a gold washing plant, professional process design and equipment configuration will bring long-term stable profits for your mining project.
