The aerated agitation tank uses a rotating impeller to create turbulent flow within the tank, keeping solid particles in suspension and promoting intimate contact between solids, liquids, and gases. Air is introduced through a hollow shaft or a separate sparger system, dispersing as fine bubbles throughout the slurry. In gold cyanidation applications, the tank provides oxygen for the cyanide leaching reaction while maintaining uniform distribution of cyanide and gold particles. Reagents are added at the feed point, and the conditioned slurry flows by gravity or pumping to the next process stage.
