Product Overview

The WSHT JT/LTA Series Jig Concentrator is a high-efficiency gravity separation device for processing coarse-grained heavy mineral ores. Utilizing the principle of differential settling in a pulsed water column, the jig achieves separation of materials based on specific gravity differences. It is extensively used in gold ore processing, tin mining, iron ore beneficiation, and coal washing where efficient recovery of liberated heavy minerals from coarse feed is required.

Working Principle

The jig concentrator separates minerals by harnessing the principle of differential settling velocity in a vertically oscillating water column. Feed material is introduced onto a perforated screen (ragging bed) inside the jig chamber. A diaphragm or plunger mechanism creates pulsating water motion through the screen. During the upward stroke, water rises through the bed, fluidizing and stratifying particles by density — heavy particles settle to the bottom while lighter particles remain at the top. During the downward stroke, suction consolidates the bed. Heavy mineral concentrate is discharged through the bottom spigot, while tailings overflow at the top.
