Gold Vibrating Screen: Efficient Ore Classification for Gold Mining

Gold vibrating screen is key pretreatment equipment in gold processing projects, widely applied for both placer alluvial gold and crushed hard‑rock gold ore.

Different from gold trommel screen which focuses on washing clay‑rich material, vibrating screen delivers high‑precision size classification. Its core function is separating ore particles according to particle size, not mainly for mud washing. It removes oversize waste rock, sends qualified fine gold‑bearing slurry to downstream gravity recovery equipment such as sluice box and centrifugal concentrator, and protects follow‑up grinding machines like pan mill from large‑size rock damage.

Working Principle

Dual vibration motors generate powerful excitation force, making the screen box do linear vibration. Fed ore bounces and stratifies on screen deck. Fine particles smaller than mesh aperture pass through screen plate and flow into next beneficiation stage. Oversize coarse rocks move forward along screen surface and get discharged as tailings. High‑pressure spray pipes can be equipped to disperse ore slurry and prevent screen‑plate blocking.

Main Application Scenarios

  1. Hard‑rock gold ore (with pan mill / gold grinding mill)
  • Installed before pan mill: screen out oversized rock, reduce impact load and protect pan mill. Thickened wear‑resistant punched steel screen plate is required.
  • Installed after pan mill: classify mill‑discharged slurry. Coarse particles return for re‑grinding, fine gold‑bearing slurry flows into sluice box or centrifugal concentrator for gold recovery.

Screen aperture, motor power and screen plate material must be confirmed according to installation position.

  1. Placer / alluvial gold mine Suitable for low‑clay gravel ore. High throughput for ore sizing before sluice gold recovery. Not recommended for heavy sticky clay ore (trommel screen performs better for heavy‑clay material).
  2. Complete mobile gold washing unit Combine with sluice box, water pump, diesel generator and centrifugal concentrator to build compact mobile gold processing plant.
