Product Overview

The WSHT FX Series Hydrocyclone is a high-capacity classifying device that uses centrifugal force to separate solid particles by size and density in liquid suspensions. The FX series is extensively used in closed-circuit grinding operations for efficient particle size classification, as well as for desliming, thickening, and dewatering applications in gold, copper, iron ore, and industrial mineral processing plants.

Working Principle

The hydrocyclone separates particles based on the principle of centrifugal sedimentation. Feed slurry enters tangentially at high pressure through the feed inlet, creating a strong rotational flow within the cylindrical section. Centrifugal force drives coarser and heavier particles to the wall, where they spiral downward and exit through the apex (underflow). Finer and lighter particles remain near the center and are carried upward through the vortex finder to the overflow outlet. The cut size is determined by the balance between centrifugal force and fluid drag.
