Silver Processing Routes
Silver occurs as native silver, silver sulphides, silver halides and as a by-product in base metal concentrates. Processing route depends on mineralogy and target product.
Flotation
For silver-bearing sulphide ores, froth flotation produces a silver-rich concentrate for smelter sale using appropriate collectors and frothers.
Merrill-Crowe Process
For silver ores amenable to cyanide leaching, zinc dust cementation recovers silver from pregnant cyanide solution. Preferred over carbon adsorption for high-silver solutions.
WSHT provides complete silver ore processing design and optimization services.
