Nickel Processing
Laterite and sulphide nickel deposits require different processing routes.
Laterite HPAL
High-pressure acid leaching at 250-270°C dissolves nickel and cobalt. Solvent extraction and electrowinning produce nickel cathode.
Sulphide Flotation
Nickel sulphide ores (pentlandite) are processed by flotation to produce concentrate for matte smelting.
