Pelletizing Process
Iron ore pelletizing converts fine concentrate into uniform spherical pellets (9-16 mm) for blast furnace or DRI feed.
Green Ball Formation
Concentrate mixed with bentonite binder is agglomerated in balling discs. Green balls must meet drop strength and size specifications.
Induration
Traveling grate furnace dries, preheats, fires (1,200-1,350°C) and cools pellets. Produces fired pellets with >65% Fe and >250 N/pellet strength.
