Hydrocyclones are the standard classification device for grinding circuits, separating coarse (underflow) from fine (overflow) particles.
Sizing
Cyclone diameter, vortex finder and apex sizes selected based on feed flow rate, solids percentage and target cut size (d50).
Cluster Configuration
Multiple cyclones in parallel (cluster) handle circuit flow. Number of cyclones determined by individual capacity and total flow requirement.
