Gravity Separation for Gold

Gravity separation exploits the high specific gravity of gold (SG 19.3) compared to typical gangue minerals (SG 2.6-3.0). This density difference makes gravity concentration one of the most cost-effective methods for recovering coarse free gold from crushed ore.

Jig Concentrators

Diaphragm jigs recover gold particles in the 1-30 mm range with high throughput capacity, often used as a primary gravity step ahead of finer grinding.

Centrifugal Concentrators

Knelson and Falcon concentrators use centrifugal forces (60-300G) to achieve high recovery of fine gold particles (5-200 microns) lost by conventional methods.
