Flotation Circuit Design for Sulphide Gold-Silver Ores — Collector Optimization

Flotation for Gold-Silver Sulphide Ores

Many gold and silver deposits contain precious metals locked within sulphide minerals such as pyrite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite and galena. Flotation produces a sulphide-rich concentrate for downstream processing.

Circuit Stages

Rougher Flotation

Rougher flotation maximizes overall gold and silver recovery with appropriate cell sizing, residence time and reagent dosing to achieve >90% recovery.

Cleaner Flotation

Cleaner stages upgrade concentrate grade by rejecting entrained gangue. Multiple cleaner stages with regrinding between stages improve separation efficiency.

Reagent Selection

WSHT optimizes collector (xanthates, dithiophosphates), frother (MIBC) and modifier selection based on ore mineralogy to maximize recovery and concentrate grade.

Key Highlights

Customized flowsheet design
Lab test validated performance
