Project Overview

WSHT delivered a complete iron ore processing facility in Kazakhstan, processing 5 million tonnes per year of magnetite ore to produce a high-grade iron concentrate for export to steel mills.

Process Design

Crushing Circuit:

  • Primary jaw crusher
  • Secondary and tertiary cone crushers
  • Pre-screening and product classification

Magnetic Separation:

  • Coarse cobbing magnetic separators
  • Primary and secondary grind circuits
  • Fine magnetic separation
  • Concentrate thickening and filtration

Production Results

  • Throughput: 5.2 Mtpa (design 5.0 Mtpa)
  • Concentrate grade: 65.5% Fe (design 65%)
  • Iron recovery: 78%
  • Product moisture: 9% (filter cake)
