China's Largest Vertical Stirred Mill Enters European Market
In July 2026, CITIC Heavy Industries successfully assembled the CMS2750 vertical stirred mill at its Luoyang headquarters — China's largest specification vertical stirred mill and the company's first large-scale vertical stirred mill exported to the European market. This milestone marks a key transition from "catching up" to "leading" in ultra-fine grinding equipment.
Technical Breakthrough
The CMS2750 represents a significant advancement in vertical stirred mill technology:
- Power rating: 2,750 kW — breaking through the previous domestic limit of 1,500 kW
- Energy efficiency: 30%-35% improvement over traditional equipment
- Grinding fineness: Achieves 10-50 micron ultra-fine grinding
- Application scope: Gold, silver, molybdenum, lead-zinc, manganese, iron, and nickel ore processing
Market Impact
Previously, China's vertical stirred mill market was dominated by imports for large-specification units. CITIC Heavy Industries has now achieved a complete product matrix covering different processing capacities, with the company's CSM series already exported to South America for Chile's state copper company Codelco.
Future Development
CITIC Heavy Industries has already developed designs for 3,360 kW and 5,300 kW vertical stirred mills, continuously breaking domestic records. The company's products have been exported to 68 countries and regions worldwide, providing "Equipment + Process + Service" full-flow solutions tailored to different mineral resources and operational requirements.
This achievement demonstrates China's capability to compete in the global high-end mining equipment market, particularly in ultra-fine grinding technology critical for modern mineral processing operations.
